There has been a plethora of start ups that has enhanced the way the customers are perceived /pampered
Some of the start ups that has caught my imagination are---
1.www.thewinkstore.com : India's 2nd start up on e-books and e-magazines. The wink store boasts of an e-reader called wink.The apps are available for android,ipads/iphones,PC and the likes.There are 0.5 million e-book titles available to digest.Add to this ,there are 4 million titles of books and print versions which can be bought as an online store.
The wink is sold at Rs 8999/- for a lifetime of reading on the go...our own KINDLE !!tch tch
2.www.hamaraguru.com :A portal which gives job hunters a real preview of happenings at their prospective organisation.Every employee can post reviews and salaries of their organisation anonymously for everyone to view.Hamara guru currently has salaries and reviews from IT,ITeS,manufacturing and banking industries.
3.Mobikwik.com : A portal on the telecom space which has ventured into niche areas of service like a) Mobile recharge b)check out a new plan or a cool offer c)find premium apps for your handset d)e-wallet
The mobile recharge is a 10000 crore market in India and only 1% is done online . Think about the opportunities this company can leverage if it can target 10% of the total market.
4.www.iprofindia.com : This start up -iProf offers a personal education tablet which delivers study material in multiple format.They have combined the aspects of a tablet with providing good education and tried to work around it by creating a low cost product.So what we have is a tablet based e-learning tool that enables anytime-anywhere-anyplace interactive education using touchscreens...fabulous
Soon you will be able to listen/interact and learn from Harvard professors sitting on the beach...
5.www.pricesbolo.com : An interesting portal for price comparisons of white/FMCG Goods.In the 2 years of its operations it has 60000 products across 27 categories on the back of 750 suppliers...and still counting
According to the latest data,the traffic on the site is 3000/day..not bad for a start up.
So this is my list of favorites on start ups...unique and innovative
